How this calculation works

Savings are the original price multiplied by the discount percentage: price × (discount ÷ 100). The final price is the original price minus those savings. The currency picker only changes how the amount is displayed — it does not convert between currencies.

Tips

Stacked discounts multiply, they don't add

Two separate 20% discounts applied one after another give a 36% total reduction, not 40% — apply them one at a time if you're stacking offers.

Compare percent-off with money-off

25% off an 80 item saves 20, while a flat 15 off saves less. Run both to see which deal is better.

Look at the original price

Some stores raise the 'before' price ahead of a sale. Comparing with the price elsewhere shows whether the discount is real.

Work backwards to find the discount

To find the percentage between two prices, use the % change tab in the Percentage calculator.

Frequently asked questions

Can the discount be more than 100%?

No — a discount above 100% would mean a negative price, so the calculator expects a value between 0 and 100.

Does this include sales tax?

No, this calculates the discount only. Use the sales tax calculator afterward if tax also applies to the discounted price.

Does switching currency convert the amount?

No. Changing the currency only changes the symbol shown next to your result — it does not look up an exchange rate or convert the value. Enter the price in whichever currency you're already shopping in.
